The pillars of a happy life

Have you ever wondered how some people are so care-free and happy that they can flow in the air just like a feather? And that no matter what hardship they face, they are still grateful and positive?

How can someone who has everything stay unsatisfied while the other who has nothing stays grateful? It’s not money or possessions that give us a full life, but the true sense of solitude and happiness; when we can truly enjoy the things we have.

You can we feel that way too, starting with the following points:

Forgiveness

Holding a grudge, waiting for an apology or staying upset at someone is a bad habit. It keeps your mind busy with unnecessary thoughts and anger; in other words it keeps you from moving forward.

No matter how bad someone treats you, you should be able to forgive them even if it’s the hardest thing to do. Forgiveness is an act of letting go. Not only does it clear your mind, but it also gives us room to grow while making it easier to find solitude.

People who don’t forgive others and are constantly looking to take revenge are always facing difficulties and challenges within themselves. Being able to forgive and let go of something can make you feel light and satisfied.

Change

The world is changing every day and so should you. We should always dedicate a big part of our lives for change and improvement, turning ourselves into better people.

By exercising our mind and soul every day, we allow ourselves to change. We mainly change for our own benefit, but most times changing can show your dedication and growth to the people around you.

Refusing to change or being stubborn when it comes to doing so, will interfere with your growth and may even hold you back in the future. Be open to new experiences and take each challenge in your life and learn something from it. You should be changing constantly.

Self-love

We are only perfect when we have truly accepted who we are. Loving ourselves opens many doors for us, both in our hearts and in the world around us.

Our whole world changes when we stop trying to be like others and start embracing the person we are and the flaws that we have. We see things differently, we start taking better care of ourselves and we start searching for the best things for our future; we start treating ourselves right.

Find the things you love about yourself rather than searching for the things that you don’t. There is only one you in this world, so take care of yourself! The journey to self-love is long and challenging, but it is the key to a happy and successful life.

No competition

Stop trying to “fit in”, stop comparing yourself to other and stop looking for validation to prove that you’re good enough.

Everyone is trying to be perfect, but most of them have the wrong definition of the word. Is being perfect having money, good looks, lots of friends or a successful business? What is the point of being perfect to others while you aren’t perfect to yourself? What is the point when you’re not truly satisfied with who you are?

Try to be better for your own good, try to change for your own sake. The only validation you need is from yourself and the only competition you have is with yourself.

Good energy

Looking at things with a good perspective and searching for good in things around us, allows us to enjoy life. Think of the world around you as a garden. When we step into a garden, we search for its beauty, its colorful flowers, and not the worn out plants. We should do the same in our everyday lives as well.

When we look at things with good energy, we get good energy in return. The same thing goes for people.

Every person has flaws just like us, but we should always search for the good in them and let them know that they have it too. Not only will it have a good impact on you, but also on the people around you when they see how you’re enjoying your days rather than just spending them.


Everything and everyone is a blessing, so are you. A happy life doesn’t find us, we find it.
